Seven Deadly Sins
POETRY
AAYUSHI SUTHAR

LUST
Don't blame me dear, I only inspire
I mistook every glance for desire.
I don't Love, I simply consume,
A flower that wilts before it can bloom.
Love? No, darling it's a Temptation game
A kiss, a touch than throw them away.
But don't look at me with judging eyes,
Tell me, haven't you tasted my lies?
GLUTTONY
What harm could it do? Just one more plate
One bite more can't be my fate
A table full, but still I crave,
A banquet built upon a grave.
Mouth full of sugar, yet bitter in taste,
What a tragedy to consume yet waste.
You will feast upon a pleasure, till it become pain,
Then wake up tomorrow and do it again

SLOTH
Wake me later, the world can wait,
Dreams are better when left to fate.
Why rush, why run, when life moves slow?
Effort is a lie, didn't you know?
Tomorrow, I swear, will be my day
Today? I will rest, let time slips away.
The art of waiting, the joy of delay,
The comfort of knowing work can stay.

GREED
I want the stars, the sky, the throne,
Why settle for less when world can be owned?
Pocket deep but hands still itch,
Counting my fortune, yet poor as a ditch.
More than I need, Yet never enough,
Blessed with abundance, cursed by the bluff.
It's not about wealth, It's about control,
Owning everything, including your soul.

WRATH
Oh, I love the way you scream,
How rage turns men into machine.
Fists so tight, teeth so bare,
Tell me how long can you hold that stare?
I boil your blood, I make heart race,
I paint your world in furious haze.
A one wrong word will decide your fate,
I turn even love into the hate.
So curse me, fight me, let tempers fly,
And when you regret it? well... so do I.

PRIDE
Look at me, really take a good look,
I am the reason they write every book.
I don't just exist, I AM,
Bigger than God, stronger than man.
Apologies? No, not my thing,
I wear my ego like a king.
Bow to me, sing my name,
Without me, you are nothing but tame.
A mirror in my hand but i refusing to see,
That in the end, the sin was ME.

ENVY
You look so happy how unfair,
While I sit alone, gasping for air.
Your success, your love, your perfect grace,
I want it, I need it, to take your place.
Counting the joys that are not my own,
Cursing my garden, envying their throne.
Comparison is a game and I play it well,
Turning my heaven into a hell.

And so here we stand, the seven of us,
Wrapped in your habits, your cravings your lust.
A little greed, a little pride,
A bit of wrath you can not hide.
You blame, you curse, you push us away.
Yet call for us night and day.
No chains, no locks, we never bind,
Yet we live rent free in your mind.
A choice, a step and we fade away,
But tell me,
Who really wants us to stay?
